Day #302

Or 9 months, 27 days
* 7,248 hours
* 43 weeks

Well here we are... 302 days. Who would have known. The reality struck Elizabeth and I when we looked at each other during the New Year. 2005 was the year of Evelyn and here she is still with us in 2006!

Things are largely unchanged. She is still an infant. Sleeps a lot. Makes little noise. Doesn't really cry. Doesn't roll over et cetera.

The last 2 months there does seem to be some awareness of her family. She fusses if we aren't with her which means she gets her way (of course) and is in bed with us lately. We can also get her to react to verbal stimulation and she will smile a bit.

She eats a good amount somedays and hunger strikes the next. Lately she has been having fevers but who knows if that is teething or an infection.

So it is still one day at a time. Most days just repeat themselves, but that is fine. We are in good spirits and thoroughly enjoy our little family.

Thanks to everyone near and far for their support, concerns, prayers, car pools, phone calls .....

Good morning Bowes family! Thanks so much for the update. It is so amazing...I remember when Evelyn was born and your aunt Pat got in touch with me to start praying... that it most probably would be days. But here is this precious child who is surrounded by SO much love she doesn't WANT to leave!... and I'm sure God is saying "you are in good hands Evelyn"...oh, and you can see in the pictures that Evelyn is indeed aware... her expressions are priceless. Julian and Timothy, I love that lego hospital! So cool! We are getting ready for Penn State's THON...we had 18 Penn Staters stay with us last weekend when they came to Allentown for "canning"... and they collected over $3300.00 on Saturday alone. The money goes to Hershey Medical Center for children with cancer. Check out www.thon.org - there's a neat video there to see what the dance marathon is all about. Our Meghan is real involved, and Michele will have her hair cut that weekend for Locks for Love. Have a wonderful week! love, Sylvia
